Birkirkara FC in the UEFA Women's Champions League

Birkirkara FC will be among the fourty clubs participating in the mini-tournament qualifying round of the UEFA Women's Champions League. The clubs and hosts countries for this year's competition have been confirmed.

The Stripes, who registered their first point last year, missed out from a historical seeding to position 3 by just two places. The Stripes have a coefficient of 0.83 – the highest that a Maltese club has ever registered.

The mini-tournament qualifying round will be composed of fourty-teams who will be divided into four equal pots composed of ten teams according to their coefficient. The group will be formed by a team from each pot.

Ten clubs have been designated as hosts for this year's UEFA Women's Champions League - Gintra Universitetas FC (Lithuania), FC Twente (Netherlands), SFK 2000 Sarajevo (Bosnia Herzegovina), WFC Kharkiv (Ukraine), WFC Pomurje Beltinci (Slovenia), RSC Anderlecht (Belgium), SK Slovan Bratislava (Slovenia), FK Breznica Pljevlja (Montenegro), FC Flora Tallinn (Estonia) and Rigas FS (Latvia). They will be drawn first from a separate pot and placed in their group according to their seeding position.

Birkirkara will face the team of position 2 on Wednesday, 7 August while they take on the team of position 1, the team with the highest coefficient of the group, on Saturday, 10 August. The Stripes will play the third and final match against the team of position 3 on Tuesday, 13 August.

The draws will be held on Friday, 21 June 2019 at 13:30 CET at the UEFA Headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.
