Birkirkara FC face Lithuanian trip in the UWCL

Birkirkara FC were drawn with hosts Gintra Universitetas of Lithuania, KFF Vllaznia of Albania and Wexford Youths Women FC of Ireland in Group 10 of the UEFA Women's Champions League mini-tournament qualifying round.

The draws were held at the UEFA Headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland on Friday afternoon. A record of sixty-two (62) teams from (50) associations have entered the 2019-2020 UEFA Women's Champions League and fourty teams (40) will be involved in the mini-tournament qualifying round.

The mini-tournament qualifying round will be played between the 7 and 13 August. The group winners together with the second best team of all the groups will join the seeded twenty-two (22) teams in the round of 32.

The Stripes, who were handed a tough draw, will start their commitments against KFF Vllaznia Shkoder on Wednesday, 7 August while they face group favourites FK Gintra Universitetas on Saturday, 10 August. The last group match against Wexford Youths FC will be played on Tuesday, 13 August.

The Maltese Champions are expected to travel to Lithuania on Monday, 5 August and return on Wednesday, 14 August.
