Birkirkara FC returned to winning ways and finished the first round of the BOV Premier League on a positive note when on Friday afternoon they defeated Sirens FC with a fine 2-0 score.

The Stripes surged ahead after ten minutes. Johann Bezzina served Isaac Ntow who had his shot blocked by goalkeeper David Cassar, but from the rebound, Federico Falcone converted from close range.

Birkirkara doubled their league on the twenty-fifth minute. Cain Attard's shot got a deflection by Thiago Espindola and surprised goalkeeper Cassar to make two for the Stripes.

Isaac Ntow was voted the BOV Player of the Match.
