BOV Premier League - Birkirkara FC vs. Mosta FC

by Ayrton Galea - 8th February 2020

Birkirkara FC will be seeking to return to winning ways when they take on Mosta FC this afternoon in a match from the BOV Premier League that will be played at the Centenary Stadium (Kick-Off: 16:15).

This will be the second match this week for the Stripes after they were involved in a goalless draw against Balzan FC on Monday that left a little impact in the league standings as both teams remained with slight hopes of finishing in the top four.

The Stripes, who lost just one match in their last nine matches in all competitions, are in the eighth position, just point under Mosta. Despite their positive run, the Stripes won just two matches from their last league five matches.

On the other hand, Mosta won three out of their last five matches and unlike previous years, they are on course for very early salvation from the relegation. In their last match, they defeated Senglea Athletic FC with a narrow 1-0 score.

Coach Andre Paus welcomes back Cain Attard from a one-match suspension, but Caio Rocha remains unavailable with a hand injury.

In the first-round match, Birkirkara and Mosta shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw but the Stripes emerged as winners in the fourth round of the FA Trophy with a 2-1 score just two weeks ago.
