Birkirkara FC signs forward Flavia Fartaria

by - 24th July 2021

Birkirkara FC has completed a major signing in women's football as the club has reached an agreement with Portuguese centre-forward Flavia Fartaria. Fartaria, who has played in the top division of Portugal in the last ten years, has joined the contingent in Turin to start the training camp with the team.

Fartaria, who turned thirty-one years old this month, has played the last ten seasons with Atlético Ouriense in the top division of Portugal. A regular player for Ouriense, she has played sixty games in the last three seasons and scored eighteen goals in the process. Fartaria is described as a lethal forward with an eye for goal thanks to her precise and powerful finishing.

The signing of Fartaria, who is the first official signing this summer, will certainly boost Birkirkara's hopes for their UEFA Women's Champions League commitments that will commence in mid-August. The Stripes will face Glasgow City FC on the 18th of August and then take on the winner/loser of the match between BIIK Kazygurt and SK Slovan Bratislava three days later.

We would like to welcome Flavia while wishing her all the best of luck during her spell with our club.
