Interview with our Team Manager Jamie Borg

by Clayton Schembri - 11th March 2022

How important it is tomorrow`s match for the club?

Tomorrow is very important for the club, especially to get the three points and to continue working to reach the club's main target. Apart from the important three points, playing against rivals Valletta and winning is always special for the fans.

How is the team preparing for this match?

The team is preparing like every other match, playing Valletta or any other team at the end of the match the 3 points are most important. In football you will have good days and bad days, but I trust in our team in returning to winning ways.

You were a supporter once as well & you can understand what they are feeling after the defeat against Santa Lucia & the Draw against Sliema. What is your message to the supporters?

I was and always will be a Birkirkara supporter. I feel the frustrations and disappointments like everyone else. Not being with the supporters in the stand has been challenging, but I feel grateful that today I have started this new experience. Today, now that I stand on the touchline, I understand better the importance of the fans' support to the team.

The club has been doing huge sacrifices in the last year and a half. We have all seen progress in every area of the club.
Let's give our support to all the people that are giving everything for our beloved club, to all the players and the team. Like I said before, we all have good days and bad days, but we must keep in mind that all of us are human beings, and we are all subject to making mistakes.

I hope and I'm positive that on tomorrow we will give our best. We all know what our squad is capable of. Our journey will continue well after this match, as we still have six games to go in the league and the F.A Trophy to fight for.

See you tomorrow! Come on Stripes!
