Birkirkara come from behind, and win

Birkirkara were able to come back from behind twice to beat Hamrun S. 3-2 in an evenly contested encounter.

After just three minutes, Comvalius shocked the Birkirkara clan, as he ran with the ball a couple of metres before slotting past Bernard Paris..

'The Stripes' had some good occassions to draw level, but this wasn't the case, until finally, in the 46th minute, Alan Tabone's cross was headed-in by Michael Galea from close range.

The half-time score read 1-1.

On 58 minutes, Birkirkara were again chasing the match, as Rupert Mangion played a fine through ball to Comvalius, who scored his second goal of the match.

The joy for the Hamrun S. supporters lasted for about eight minutes, as a Sokolov header was cleared off the goal-line by the hands of Rupert Mangion, only to find Ronni Hartvig who slotted home the rebound. Mangion was than shown the yellow card.

Birkirkara's hugely awaited winning goal came after 75 minutes, when off a Sean Bajada corner, Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza put our side ahead for the first and most important time of the match..

With this result, Birkirkara have registered their first win in four matches, and our side is now third on 29 points.
