Ryan Camenzuli about his debut

by Ayrton Galea - 31st December 2010

Last Wednesday, Birkirkara took part in the Charles Abela Memorial Cup and they emerged as winners. As has been published on this website, two youngsters made their debut with the senior squad, and we decided to interview one of them, Ryan Camenzuli.

We started this interview by asking Ryan how old he is and for how long he has been playing for the Club. He replied "I am sixteen years old, and I began playing for Birkirkara when I was only seven years old."

Then we turned our focus to Wednesday's tournament, and we asked him about his feelings when he was included in the 1st eleven of both matches. "It is a nice experience and I was really excited. The players' support towards me was very important as I was getting more confidence when I was on the ball."

Ryan, is the brother of former Birkirkara player, William Camenzuli who now dons the Mosta shirt. Interestingly enough last Wednesday, they played against each other. We asked Ryan what he felt and whether he feels he is following his brother's track and he replied, "I was excited because it was my debut, but I am determined to have a succefull football career like William had."

Finally, we asked Ryan what does it mean for him to play for Birkirkara and his final words were, "It is a big honour for me to play for Birkirkara, but it is not easy to play with the team who was crowned champion last season."
