Ryan Harding released by Birkirkara F.C.

by Ivan Mizzi - 28th January 2011

Scottish defender Ryan Harding has been released by Birkirkara F.C. The release was agreed upon amicably and mutually, to serve the interest of both parties. Ryan is now set to return to his native Scotland.

Ryan signed with 'The Stripes' on the 31st August 2010 and made his first official appearance in the first match of the Premier League against Sliema Wanderers which was played on Monday 13th September with Birkirkara emerging as winners with a 4-1 score line. However his very first match for the Club was on Monday 23rd August in the Carlsberg Tournament, while he was still on trial. This was the match against Qormi FC which the game ended in a goal-less draw.

With the yellow-red shirt, Ryan made eight appearances in the BoV Premier League. These were against Sliema, Floriana, Hibernians, Valletta, Marsaxlokk, Qormi and Tarxien in the first round while the only match he played in the second round was against Sliema Wanderers.

Unexpectedly, Ryan began to suffer from a medical condition and this kept him out of play.

We want to thank Ryan for his service to our Club, while wishing him the best of luck for the future in his personal life.
