Difficult test for Birkirkara

by Ayrton Galea - 10th September 2011

A tricky and difficult test will be waiting today afternoon for Birkirkara where in the first match of the day, 'The Stripes' will face Hibernians.

Birkirkara registered two out of two in the Premier League and so far they are joint leaders with Valletta and Floriana respectively. After they opened the Premier League with a fine 2-0 over Qormi, Birkirkara clinched their second win by beating Mosta with a 3-1 score.

On the other hand, Hibernians opened the Premier League in a 3-3 draw in a highly entertaining match against Sliema Wanderers. In the second match Hibernians registered their first win when they defeated Marsaxlokk with a 2-1 score.

Mr. Patrick Curmi will not have full selection available as Andrew Decesare is suspended after he was sent off for double booking in the last match against Mosta. Rowen Muscat is ruled out injured after he had to be replaced in the last Under 21 International match. Yesterday afternoon he went through some medical tests and it results that Rowen will be out of action for three weeks. The third and final player who is unavailable for today's match is Shola Haruna Shodyia who is still waiting for the International Transfer Certificate.

The match will be played at the National Stadium and it is scheduled to kick off at 18:00. All the works that were going in the Enclosure stands are now complete and for this match the supporters will be seated once again in the Enclosure stands. Transport from Valley Road is available and it will leave at 17:00.

Will Birkirkara make them three out of three, or will Hibernians end Birkirkara's positive run?
