Birkirkara aiming to bounce back

by Ayrton Galea - 10th November 2011

Friday evening Birkirkara will be aiming to bounce back from the surprising defeat against Tarxien Rainbows, when they will be involved in another tricky match against newly promoted Balzan Youths.

Despite losing the last match against Valletta, everyone is impressed with the effort shown by Balzan who played for more than 65 minutes with one player less. It was only in the last fifteen minutes when 'The Citizens' opened the score thanks to a deflected shot. They then scored again a few minutes from time. In their previous two matches, Balzan emerged victorious when first they beat Tarxien with a 2-1 score and then Marsaxlokk with a 3-1 score.

Angus Buhagiar will be back after serving one match ban against Tarxien Rainbows. Shaun Bajada was called up with the 18 men squad as a sign of his recovery, and is expected to make his return to the pitch shortly.

Birkirkara are not in a position to drop more precious points and it is expected that they react to last week's disappointing result. On the other hand, Balzan will aim to extend their positive run with another solid performance.

The match will be played at the Victor Tedesco Stadium and it is scheduled to kick off at 18:00. Transport from Valley Road is available and will leave at 17:15.

In these type of matches your support is extremely important, especially if things are not going as expected.

Come on the Stripes!
