Birkirkara start 2nd Round by facing Qormi

by Ayrton Galea - 20th November 2011

Next Monday Birkirkara will be hoping to consolidate the fourth place while keeping the pace with the top teams when in a difficult challenge, they will face Qormi.

In the last match, a spectacular goal by Moises Avila Perez helped Birkirkara to turn a defeat into victory as they beat Balzan Youths with a 2-1 score to end the first round on a positive note.

On the other hand, Qormi ended the first round with the biggest defeat so far when they were trounced by Hibernians with a 4-0 score. Qormi registered their last win two matches ago when they defeated Mosta with a 4-1 score.

Birkirkara will not be in full strength as Rowen Muscat suffered a hamstring injury during the match between Malta and Sweden which was played on Tuesday.

Birkirkara are currently fourth one point ahead Qormi and Sliema but the latter played a match more. If Birkirkara manage to win they will go four points ahead these two teams and will narrow the gap with the current runners up, Hibernians to six points.

In the first round Birkirkara registered a 2-0 win thanks to goals by Moises Avila Perez and Trevor Cilia in the first match of the Premier League.

The match will be played at the Victor Tedesco Stadium and it is scheduled to kick off at 19:30. Transport from Valley Road is available and it will leave at 19:00.

The second round begins here, and as usual your support is vital to our players!
