Ryan Camenzuli Interviewed

by Ayrton Galea - 3rd May 2012

For this week's interview we decided to interview another youngster. The choice fell on Ryan Camenzuli, the brother of former Birkirkara player Willam. Ryan was the scorer of the second goal against Hibernians in our last match. This was his first goal ever in the Premier League.

Who is Ryan Camenzuli?

I am Ryan Camenzuli. I live in Balzan and I'm an outgoing person.

How do you spend your regular day?

Sometimes I wake up early to do some physical training and sometimes I sleep in a bit and then prepare for training.

How do you spend your weekends?

When we have a match on Sunday, I always stay home, preparing for the match. When we are not playing on a Sunday, I usually go out with my friends.

What are your main hobbies besides football?

I like playing on the Play-station and watching television.

Which is your favourite kind of music?

Techno.

Do you follow international football? If yes, which is your favourite nation when it comes to football, and which is your favourite foreign Club?

Yes, I follow England and Chelsea FC.

Who is your favourite player?

Dider Drogba because he's a very strong player.

Do you have a role model? Who and why?

The Chelsea FC midfielder, Franka Lampard because of his exemplary character.

How is the atmosphere in the Birkirkara dressing room?

It is a very good atmosphere, we're a good group and we're united.

Who is your best team-mate?

Ryan Scicluna also known as ' Ix-Xiki'.

What does it mean to you that recently you won a regular place with the First Team?

It means a lot. It gives me more pride and it gives me the chance to make another step in my career.

What does scoring with the First Team mean to you?

It also means a lot to me. It's something amazing which gives a lot of satisfaction.

Are you satisfied with your performances so far? Do you think there's a room for improvement?

I'm happy with my performances, but there's always room for improvement.

With your brother being a former Birkirkara FC player, does he encourage you or give you advice for improvement?

Yes, sometimes he gives me tips about what I can do, or do better, both before and after a match.

Which was your best match so far?

I think the last match against Hibernians was my best match so far.

What can you tell us about the season of the Under 19 team?

I think we had a good season, we were a good group with a good relationship with the Coach and I think this helped a lot because everyone was happy.

Due to your First Team involvements, you are often not available to play with the Under 19's, or only included as a substitute. How does this make you feel?

I understand and accept the situation that when there's a chance to play with First Team I can't play with the Under 19 Team as well.

What are your comments about the last match against Hibernians?

We had a very good match despite having two players sent off, and this win showed the real strength of the team.

What was the key factor which led to this victory?

The key-factor was that we never give up and continued to believe in ourselves.

What are your comments about the next match against Sliema Wanderers?

I think if we play like we did in the last match against Hibernians, we have a good chance of winning.

What is your message to the supporters?

To stay always behind us, whatever happens and to continue following the Club.
