Birkirkara to face Floriana

by Ayrton Galea - 26th June 2012

Birkirkara will be involved in their second match of the Euro Cup when this evening they face Floriana.

Birkirkara had a very disappointing opening for the new season with a 5-0 loss against Hibernians in a match where the latter dominated tthe whole match.

Today's opponents, also started their season with a loss, when they were beaten 2-1 by Valletta.

Last season matches between Birkirkara and Floriana were always balanced and entertaining. In fact, these two teams won two matches each, against each other. Following a 3-0 win by Birkirkara, Floriana got a 1-0 win in the second round. Birkirkara kicked-off the Championship Pool in style with a 3-1 win but in the fourth round it was Floriana who managed to beat Birkirkara with a 2-1 score.

Birkirkara will have Rodrigo Pereira missing, since he was sent off in the last match against Hibernians.

The match will be played at the Centenary Stadium and it is scheduled to kick off at 18:30.

Come on the Stripes.
