Birkirkara aim to bounce back

by Ayrton Galea - 26th October 2012

Birkirkara will be aiming to bounce back from the shocking defeat against Hamrun Spartans, when they face Hibernians in the clash for the second place.

After sharing the spoils in a 1-1 draw against Valletta, one might think that the match against Hamrun Spartans would be an easy task but Birkirkara had a sour surprise waiting for them when they were defeated with a 3-1 score after taking an early lead.

On the other hand, Hibernians are still to bounce back from the 1-0 defeat against Valletta and now they have gone three matches without a win. Many were negatively surprised by Hibernians in the last two outings as they suffered a humiliating 4-0 defeat to Sliema and conceding a last minute equalising draw in the derby of the south against Tarxien Rainbows.

Birkirkara will do their best to bounce back from the disappointing defeat by beating Hibernians, but the latter will also be all out to return to winning ways to silence the critics of their team.

Both teams will be unable to field their best formation as Paul Fenech is suspended for ‘The Stripes' while Adrian Pulis and Zoran Levnajic are suspended for Hibernians.

These two teams already met once this season when Hibernians easily defeating Birkirkara with a 5-0 score in the Euro Cup earlier in June.

The match will be played at the Hibernians Stadium and is scheduled to kick off at 17:00. Transport from Valley Road will leave at 16:00.

Come on the Stripes!
