Women's Team aim to bounce back

by Ayrton Galea - 12th February 2013

After sharing the spoils in their last two outings, Birkirkara FC's Women's team will be all out to return to winning ways when this evening they will face Gozo, in a delicate encounter.

The Stripes kicked off the second round with two draws against leaders Mosta and Hibernians respectively, scoring late equalisers in both occasions to confirm their never-give-up attitude.

However, leaders Mosta made their best out of the result between Birkirkara and Hibernians as they went three points clear on top of the table and opened a five point gap over Birkirkara, and therefore the Stripes will be all out to return to winning ways in today's match.

On the other hand, Gozo made a perfect launch for the second round as they won maximum points out of their two games as they defeated Pembroke Athletha with a 3-1 score and Hamrun Spartans with a 4-0 score.

Birkirkara are third with 21 points, five below leaders Mosta and two over Gozo. A win for the Stripes might see them moving closer to the leaders as Mosta will be involved in the top of the table clash against Hibernians.

The match will be played at the Luxol Grounds and it is scheduled to kick off at 18:00.

Come on the Stripes!
