Demba Toure joins Birkirkara FC

by Ivan Mizzi - 4th July 2013

Birkirkara FC has just started its Summer Transfer Market campaign, as a few moments ago it registered striker Demba Toure.

This could be considered as a major signing for the Maltese Champions as they made their intentions clear of signing a prolific striker. The choice fell on the Senegalese striker, who was playing for Valletta FC last season.

Have joined the Citizens in the January Transfer Market, Demba proved his skills by scoring no less than 8 goals in 17 appearances. He established himself as a deadly-striker as his attacking skills make it difficult to deal with, especially from inside the box.

Toure, aged 28, has already made his first unofficial appearance for the Stripes. He was included as a substitute in the 60th minute of the match against Hibernians in the Euro Cup friendly tournament, when the Stripes emerged as winners with a 2-0 score. Demba left his mark by scoring the second goal in the late stages of the match.

We would like to wish Demba all the best of luck in his adventure with our Club.
