Matheus Bissi's injury and treatment

by Ivan Mizzi - 5th December 2013

Birkirkara FC's central defender, Matheus Bissi, was injured during last Sunday's training session of the Senior Club, at the Mgarr Ground. A scan on Monday showed a tear in his right quadriceps muscle.

Through contacts made by the Club's Physiotherapist Mr. Aaron Saliba and the Head Coach Mr. Paul Zammit, with the Portuguese National Team Doctor, Bissi was sent for a special medical treatment in Portugal, on Wednesday.

This cutting-edge treatment is available only in a very few specialised clinics in Europe. It is expected to speed up the rehabilitation progress by up to 60%. Matheus Bissi will be back in Malta on Friday evening.
