Women's Team seek semi-final place

by Ayrton Galea - 5th February 2014

Birkirkara FC's Women's Team will be seeking to book a place into the Semi Final of the Women's Knock-Out when this evening, they take on the First Division's bottom placed team, Pembroke Athletha.

The Maltese Champions are with morale sky high after they halted Hibernians' run in the league, when with a superb performance they inflicted their first defeat with a score of 2-0, in a match which saw the Stripes levelling Hibernians at the top of the table.

On the other hand, Pembroke is also enjoying a good moment, as they picked up their first point last Tuesday, when they held Kirkop United in a 1-1 draw. Despite registering their first point, they are still anchored at the bottom of the table, two under Raiders FC.

Birkirkara were awarded a bye to this round while Pembroke Athleta made it to the Quater Finals by eliminating Raiders 2-1, thanks to a goal in the extra-time period after the score in the ninety minute read 1-1.

The match is going to be played at the Mgarr Grounds and is scheduled to kick off at 20:15.

Come on the Stripes!
