Shola back with the squad

by Ivan Mizzi - 10th October 2014

Birkirkara FC and Nigerian striker Shola Shodiya have come to a fresh agreement, which will see the attacker once again wearing the Stripes' shirt.

Shola needs no introduction, as he featured regularly in the Birkirkara line-up, which he joined in Season 2011-2012. He made his debut in the 1-0 defeat against Sliema Wanderers, played on the 24 September 2011 at the Hibernians Stadium. In his three-year spell with our Club, he made seventy-eight appearances in the BOV Premier League and scored twenty-nine goals.

Shola will be the eight foreigner for the Stripes and the fifth foreign striker for this season. He will join Eliandro Gonzaga, Ellinton Morais, Rafael Ledesma and Vyacheslav Shevchenko in the attacking department.

Since Shola was still on the books of the Club, all the paperwork is in place, and he is available for selection.

We would like to wish Shola the best of luck for the rest of his playing days with our Club.
