'We have our weapons, we must use them well' - Miccoli

by Ayrton Galea - 22nd July 2015

This summer's most prestigious signing in Maltese Football, Fabrizio Miccoli, is relying on Birkirkara's strongest points for tomorrow's match against West Ham United FC, in the ambition of reaching a historic qualification to third round in the UEFA Europa League.

Having joined Birkirkara FC in the last week of June, the experienced Italian striker was quick to leave his mark, with a goal and an assist the 3-1 victory over Ulisses FC. Miccoli went on by playing all the ninety minutes in the last game against West Ham United, with his abilities once again being clear to see.

The thirty-six year old forward is looking forward for tomorrow's match with a sense of optimism. “It will be another difficult match, but we have our weapons, and we must use them well. We are ready to give it our all.

“If I did not believe that we could qualify, I would stay at the hotel, and would not go to the match. In football everything is possible. We know that that is going to be another difficult match, but nothing is impossible. We are going to try our best, but whatever happens, I will give credit to my team-mates for what we have achieved so far due to the gap between the two clubs.”

“Football in Malta is improving, and will continue to improve. Maltese football is attracting big coaches and big players, and I believe that in the near future it will improve further more.”

Miccoli concluded by saying, “I am very happy with this Club. I did not expect that I would settle this quickly. From the first day of training, all the players made me feel that I am one of them. I hope that I can help them with my experience and help them grow in every way I can.”
