Stripes all out to get back on track

by Ayrton Galea - 27th September 2015

Birkirkara FC will be hoping to return to winning ways and make the most of leaders Hibernians' slip, when this evening they face Qormi FC in the sixth game of the BOV Premier League.

The Stripes looked on course to register their second victory in three days when they were leading with one-goal against Mosta, but three minutes from time, Edin Murga scored a to give his team a 1-1 draw.

Birkirkara are lying mid-table in the seventh place with eighth points from five matches, but they will be seeking to make the most of yesterday's identical 1-1 draws between Floriana and Tarxien Rainbows, and Hibernians and Pembroke Athleta.

On the other hand, Qormi won their first four points in their last two matches. They defeated St. Andrew's with a comfortable 3-0 score while they held Sliema Wanderers in a goal-less draw. They are in the tenth position, four points over St. Andrew's and Naxxar Lions who are still looking for their first points.

Coach Giovanni Tedesco must at least make two changes from the last match, as Mauricio Mazzetti who was sent off in the last match was handed a two-match ban, while in the same match, Nikola Vukanac suffered an injury which rules him out for today's match.

The match will be played at the National Stadium and it is scheduled to kick off at 19:00.

Come on the Stripes!
