Birkirkara to face NK Siroki Brijeg

Birkirkara FC will be involved in the first leg of the first qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League this evening, when they will start away from home to face NK Siroki Brijeg from Bosnia.

Have started their preparations in the second week of June, under the guidance of Mr. Drazen Besek, who renewed his contract for another year this summer, the Stripes will be all out to achieve the best result possible despite playing away from home.

Birkirkara, third in last year's premier league, reinforced their squad for these matches. Promising forward Matteo Desira Buttigieg and Emerson Marcelina are both back in the squad while they signed Predrag Jovic in defence while strengthened and Srdjan Dimitrov in attack besides up-and-coming goalkeeper Andreas Vella and the experienced and technical midfielder Shaun Bajada.

On the other hand, Siroki, who are led by Mr. Slaven Musa who had joined the squad in 2012, started training more recently. The core of the players has remained the same that are from Bosnia but they also have a number of foreigners in their squad. They finished in the third place last year and their top scorer was their Brazilian player Wagner Logo who netted twelve goals.

The match will be played at the Pecara Stadium, in the city of Siroki Brijog and it will kick off at 19:00 CET. It will be controlled by referee Sandro Scharer and his assistants will be Raffael Zeder and Jan Kobeli while the fouth official will be Sebastien Pache who all hails from Switzerland.
