Stripes face Pembroke Athleta

by Ayrton Galea - 4th April 2017

Birkirkara FC will be seeking to register their second consecutive victory in the BOV Premier League this evening, when they take on bottom-placed Pembroke Athleta FC.

The Stripes climbed to the fourth place on Saturday, when they registered a 3-0 win over Mosta FC. An early own goal paved the way, before Miguel Alba and Srdjan Dimitrov scored a goal each to wrap-up the victory.

Birkirkara are alone in the fourth place with forty-eighth points, one over Floriana and six points under Balzan and Valletta. Balzan will start as favourites in their match against Gzira United, but Valletta will be involved in another difficult clash, this time against leaders Hibernians.

On the other hand, Pembroke Athleta are in the last place with fourteen points, two points under Mosta. Last Saturday Pembroke were trounced by Gzira United with a 5-1 score.

Nikola Vukanac is suspended and will not be available for today's selection.

The match will be played at the Hibernians Stadium and will kick off at 20:00. Transport from Valley Road will leave at 19:00.

Come on the Stripes!
