Stripes take on Balzan in a direct clash

by Ayrton Galea - 8th April 2017

Birkirkara FC will be aiming to register the third consecutive victory in the BOV Premier League and keep their hopes alive of finishing in the first three places, when they take on Balzan FC in a direct clash.

The Stripes registered their second victory in space of four days when with a goal in each half, they defeated Pembroke Athleta FC. This victory came just few days later after the Stripes returned to winning ways by beating Mosta FC with a 3-0 score.

Birkirkara lay six points under third-placed Balzan and a victory for the Stripes will open wide once again the challenge for the third place. The Stripes are still unbeaten against Balzan this season, following a 3-0 victory in the first round and a 1-1 draw in the second round.

The Stripes will be boosted by the return of defender Nikola Vukanac after missing the last match. On the other hand, Samir Arab is suspended for Balzan after he was sent off in the last match.

The match will be played at the National Stadium and it will kick off at 18:00. Transport will leave from Valley Road at 17:00.

Come on the Stripes!
