Joseph Zerafa and Henry Bonello moves to Valletta FC

by Ivan Mizzi - 16th June 2017

Defender Joseph Zerafa has decided to end his long-term spell with our Club, as he sought for a new challenge and opted to join Valletta FC.

On the other hand, the Club reached an agreement with Valletta FC for the permanent move of Henry Bonello who will be re-joining the Citizens. This fits in well with the club's vision to believe in the best young Maltese talent as this will see goalkeeper Philip Schranz returning with our Club.

Joseph ended his long-term spell with our Club by moving to Valletta FC, after his contract expired and was free to move. He played 300 matches with our Club and won every honour that the Maltese football offers.

On the other hand, Henry joined our Club in the January Transfer Market and he made his debut in the 2-0 victory over Pembroke Athleta FC on 8 January 2017. He made seventeen league appearances with our Club and registered six clean-sheets.

The Club would like to thank both Joseph and Henry for their services while wishing them all the best of luck in the future.
