Birkirkara take on Gzira United

by Ayrton Galea - 26th August 2017

Birkirkara FC will be involved in the second match of the BOV Premier League this evening, when they will take on Gzira United FC.

The Stripes started their league campaign with a difficult 1-1 draw against Floriana, as they were forced to play the last twenty minutes with one player less after Edmond Agius was sent off. On a more positive note, Bruno Andrade scored on his official debut with our Club.

On the other hand, Gzira United kicked off their league campaign with a satisfactory 4-0 against Lija Athletic, after the latter had a player sent off after just five minutes. Debutant Amadou Samb scored a brace while the other two goals were scored by Andre White and Samba Tounkara.

Coach Peter Pullicino is unable to have full-squad at his disposal, as Edmond Agius is suspended after he was sent off for double booking in the last match.

The match will be played at the Centenary Stadium and it will kick off at 18:30.

Come on the Stripes!
