Stripes face Balzan in difficult encounter

by Ayrton Galea - 4th November 2017

Birkirkara FC will be looking to continue improving their position in the league standings as they will be eyeing their third consecutive victory this afternoon, but their task is anything than easy as they will take on in-form Balzan FC side.

The Stripes showed signs of improvement in their last two outings as for the first time they registered back to back victories in the BOV Premier League. They defeated Lija Athletic FC with a 2-0 score while in their last match, they defeated Tarxien Rainbows FC with a 3-1 score, thanks to a goal each by Carlos Alberto, Fabiano Oliveira and Nikola Vukanac.

Despite two consecutive victories, the Stripes are still in an unusual seventh place, sharing it with Hamrun Spartans FC, with thirteen points while on the other hand, tomorrow's opponents Balzan are in the fourth place, two points under Floriana but with a game in hand.

Following such a slow strong, Balzan has recovered well. After they shared the spoils with Floriana FC in a 1-1 draw, they registered two consecutive victories and they are coming from a comfortable 5-0 victory over Mosta FC. They are undefeated in the last eight matches as they have registered four wins and four draws in their last eight outings.

The match will be played at the Centenary Stadium and it will kick off at 16:15. Transport from Valley Road leaves at 15:00.

Come on the Stripes!
