Philip Schranz joins Pembroke Athleta FC on loan

by Ayrton Galea - 21st January 2019

Birkirkara FC goalkeeper Philip Schranz has joined BOV First Division League side, Pembroke Athleta FC on loan till the end of season 2018-2019. This is his second loan this season, after he has played for BOV Premier League side, Senglea Athletic FC for the first part of this season.

Schranz, a product of Melita FC, joined our Club in August 2015. Following one appearance in season 2015-2016, he was loaned out in the following season with Tarxien Rainbows FC. He was the regular goalkeeper as he made fifteen appearances.

He was retained by the Stripes last season and made twelve appearances in the first part of the season. However, he lost his place following the arrival of the Birkirkara FC current goalkeeper, Kristijan Naumovski.

In the beginning of this season, he joined Senglea Athletic FC, but he made just four appearances. Philip is now hoping for playing time in his new adventure. “The move is to regain confidence in myself and work harder, with a team who wish to build on their current squad and challenge to go back to the BOV Premier League.”

We would like to wish Philip all the best of luck.
