Match Preview: Birkirkara FC vs. St. Andrew's FC

by Ayrton Galea - 2nd March 2019

Birkirkara FC will be seeking to return to winning ways and keep their hopes alive of finishing in top-four of the BOV Premier League when they will take on St. Andrew's FC in a match that will be played at the Victor Tedesco Stadium (Kick Off – 14:00).

With just one win in the five matches of the second round, the Stripes slipped to the seventh place, but a victory this afternoon would see them back in the top-four challenge by overlapping Balzan FC, while Hamrun Spartans FC and Sliema Wanderers FC go head to head later on this afternoon.

A defeat to Valletta FC and back to back draws against Floriana FC and Gzira United FC halted the run of five positive results. The Stripes have only won against Pieta' Hotspurs FC in this second round, while they registered three draws and one defeat.

On the other hand, St. Andrew's FC conceded a late goal against Hibernians FC to lose the match with a 2-1 score, after they had registered a positive 1-1 draw against Sliema Wanderers FC. Their last victory on the pitch was way back in November when they defeated Balzan FC with a 2-0 score.

St. Andrew's emerged as winners in the first-round match with a 2-0 score.

Come on the Stripes!
