Match Preview: Birkirkara FC vs. Mgarr United FC

by Ayrton Galea - 1st May 2019

Birkirkara FC Women's Team will be lifting the BOV Women's League title this afternoon after playing their last league fixture against Mgarr United FC (Charles Abela Stadium - 16:15).

Last week, the Stripes sealed their eighth league title crown and the third consecutive one for the first time in the club's history when they got the point they needed in a 2-2 draw against Hibernians FC.

The Stripes will be looking to wrap up what has been an outstanding league campaign with a positive result this afternoon which would see them going an entire league campaign unbeaten.

Led by Coach Melania Bajada for the second year running, the Stripes won sixteen out of their nineteen matches and they bolster the best attack and the best defence of the league.

The Birkirkara Coach was the mastermind behind an intensive transfer campaign last summer that created the perfect blend between the young and the experienced players.

One of the standout players for the Stripes that joined the club this summer was Kailey Willis as the fifteen-year-old forward is the team's top scorer with sixteen goals in eighteen appearances.

The supporters are encouraged to come and support the Women's Team in their last league fixture. The trophy presentation will follow after the match.
