Mifsud rejoins Malta squad ahead of Romania match

by Ayrton Galea - 9th June 2019

Forward Michael Mifsud has rejoined the Malta squad ahead of the Euro 2020 Group F qualifier against Romania at the National Stadium on Monday (kick-off 20.45).

Mifsud missed the 3-0 defeat to Sweden at the Friends Arena on Friday as he continued his recovery from a minor injury but the Malta captain has now been certified fit to return to the squad.

Mifsud will join the other two Birkirkara FC players selected including goalkeeper Andrew Hogg and forward Luke Montebello. Montebello made his first appearance in the starting-eleven selection for the National Team in the last match.

The Malta contingent returned from Sweden on a chartered Air Malta flight on Saturday morning.

The players who started the match in Stockholm had a recovery session at the team hotel while the remaining members of the squad had a light training session at the MFA Training Grounds.
