Birkirkara to face Sliema today

by Ayrton Galea - 5th December 2010

This afternoon, Birkirkara will open their commitments in the second round of the Premier League when they face Sliema Wanderers who are currently in the 8th place.

Birkirkara have not had the expected results and all the whole clan is hoping that this second round will be better than the previous round.

For the 10th consecutive match in this Premier League, Birkirkara will not be in full strength as besides the Italian-Brazilian goalkeeper, Esequiel Lovizon, Trevor Cilia is still not in his best form for today's game. Also doubtful to make it to today's match are Rowen Muscat and Nikola Vukanac.

Birkirkara are currently 4th with 13 points, four points ahead of Sliema Wanderers and a win for 'The Stripes' can see them climbing to the third place as Floriana dropped another two points yesterday against Hibernians.

In the first round, it was Birkirkara who went out with flying colours from the game as with no less than seven players ruled out due to injuries and suspensions, Birkirkara beat Sliema Wanderers with a 4-1 result.

As the youngster Rowen Muscat said yesterday, your support is very important and it gives that extra boost to the players.

The match will be played at the National Stadium, Ta' Qali and it is scheduled to start at 16:00. Transport from Valley Road leaves one hour before that is at 15:00

Come on the Stripes!
