January Round-Up

by Ayrton Galea - 2nd February 2011

January has just passed, and we are going to take you through the highlights of the Birkirkara F.C. news for this month.

January can be described as a month of two halves for Birkirkara. It started on a negative note as Birkirkara were defeated twice in the first two Premier League matches. First against Valletta with a score of 3-1, and then against Marsaxlokk with a 2-0 result. Then 'The Stripes' bounced back with two consecutive victories against Hamrun Spartans, with a 2-0 result, and then against Vittoriosa with a solitary goal by debutant Andrei Agius.

Another notable point in this month was the sponsorship agreed with BetClic as they officially became one of the Birkirkara sponsors in this season from the 6th January.

In the first month of the year, Birkirkara registered two wins and two defeats. January opened on a negative note as in the first Premier League match of the month, which was played on the 8th January; they were defeated to the tune of 3-1 line by archrivals Valletta.
