Birkirkara, Valletta to cross swords in the much awaited match

by Ayrton Galea - 14th October 2011

Birkirkara's disappointing streak was brought to an end last match against Marsaxlokk when, despite not giving an excellent performance they managed to pick a 2-1 win thanks to goals by Rodrigo Pereira and Moises Avila Perez

On the other hand, Valletta also returned to winning ways following their defeat of 2-0 by Hibernians. They had to struggle more than they expected in order to beat motivated Mqabba with a 4-2 score.

This season, Birkirkara have met Valletta just once in the Euro Cup. A match in which both teams shared the spoils in an entertaining 2-2 draw. However this draw was enough for the Citizens to lift the first cup of the season.

After having to be replaced in the last match, Angus Buhagiar failed to make it back on time and he will be out of selection for Saturday's match. As already published by this website, the latest acquisition by Birkirkara, Dragan Perisic is expected to make his first appearance clad in our shirt.

This will be the first match for Mr. Paul Zammit as head coach since he has been appointed two weeks ago.

The match will be played at the National Stadium and is scheduled to kick off at 17:00. Transport from Valley road is available and it will leave at 16:00.

Come on the Stripes!
