For this week's interview we decided to introduce another player who joined our Club in this Summer Transfer window, the fast Brazilian winger, Jhonnattann Benites.

Who is Jhonnattann Benites?

I was born in Sao Fidelis RJ and at the age of three, we moved to Cardosa Moreira where I started playing football at the age of eight. I started playing football professionally at the age of 17 and I am now 23 years old.

What is your marital status? Are you married? Do you have kids?

I'm in a relationship but I don't have children till now.

How do you spend your regular day?

I spend my day resting and relaxing and talking to my family in Brazil although the time zone is a little different.

How do you spend your weekends?

Most of the times, I usually play in weekends and it's nice to do what I like most, which is football.

What are your main hobbies besides football?

I like being with my family, going to the beach and I did not give up football with my friends. (laughs)

What is your favourite food?

Lasagna.

What is your favourite kind of music?

Pagode.

Do you have a favourite quote or motto?

Never give up on a challenge.

Do you follow international football? If yes, which is your favourite nation when it comes to football, and which is your favourite club?

I do follow a bit, but I like Spain a lot and Real Madrid is my favourite team.

Who is your favourite player? Why?

Ronaldinho. I have always followed him and he will always be the best in the world.

What is your biggest fear on the pitch?

Nothing, my fears could not be on the pitch.

Why did you decide to join Birkirkara FC?

I wanted to play in a club that gave me tranquillity and above all respect and I found it in Birkirkara.

Had you ever heard of Malta? Did you ever imagine you would be playing here?

I had never heard of Malta and therefore I never thought to play here, but I'm enjoying where I am. I'm very happy.

Are you having communication problems? Is language being a big problem?

No, I thought I would have bigger problems but the players are always helping me to master the language.

Who is your best team mate?

My relationship with every player is good, as Birkirkara is a family. But I'm a bit closer with the Brazilian Joselito Dos Reis, since I can talk much more with him, without other players understanding us. (laughs)

How are you feeling with the Club? Have you settled in?

I already felt at home since the very first day. I am very happy and every day that passes increases my affection for the club.

What are your comments about the match against Melita? How important was it to score on the first match of the league?

It was a key match, because we needed to start on the right foot, and with a convincing win. It's very important to start the Championship with a win, and as a striker it was good to score to increase confidence to score more goals.

How are you preparing for the next game against Balzan Youths?

We're training hard and we are fully concentrated. Every game is a final for me.

What are your targets and the Club's targets for this season?

My targets are with my team, I really want to be a champion and I'm sure that the whole team has the same thought so we will fight until the end.

Do you have a message for the supporters?

My message is to attend the matches and to support us whenever we're on the pitch. We are dedicated to reach our targets and to honour the shirt of Birkirkara.
