Ellinton Morais released by Birkirkara FC

by Ivan Mizzi - 10th January 2016

Birkirkara FC reached an agreement with Brazilian forward Ellinton Morais to terminate his contract, following the player's request. Ellinton is set to continue his playing career in another country.

With the Stripes revamping their squad in this January Transfer Market, Ellinton will be the third foreigner released, and the fifth player to leave the Club. Foreigners Juan Quero and Shola Shodiya have been released, Zach Muscat moved to the Italian side of Akragas, while Paul Fenech joined Balzan FC.

Ellinton joined our Club in the 2014 Summer Transfer Market and with our Club he made forty-five appearances, and scored nineteen goals. He won the BOV Super Cup and the FA Trophy with our Club, while he was part of the squad of this summer's UEFA Europa League campaign that saw the Stripes qualifying to the second round and dramatically beating West Ham United FC.

We would like to thank Ellinton for his service towards our Club, while we wish him all the best of luck in his future.
