The Stripes to take on Hearts

by Ayrton Galea - 14th July 2016

Birkirkara FC this evening will be seeking a positive result against the Scottish side of Heart of Midlothian FC, in the home-leg of the second qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League.

The Stripes are still in a buoyant mood following last week's positive result. A goal by Srdjan Dimitrov, followed by an own goal rewarded them with a 2-0 victory over NK Siroki Brijeg to book their place in the second qualifying round.

Birkirkara's qualification earned them a luxurious fixture for the second year running. After facing England's West Ham United FC last season, they are now to face the Scottish side of Heart of Midlothian. The latter advanced to this round after eliminating the Estonian side FC Infonet with a 6-3 aggregate score.

Birkirkara will have available their last two signings available, namely Bruno Marotti and Dejan Djordjevic, while Frank Temile had rejoined the team. On the other hand, Nikola Vukanac is doubtful while Predrag Jovic is ruled-out injured.

The match will be played at the Hibernians Stadium and will kick off at 20:30.

Come on the Stripes!
