Birkirkara take on Sliema Wanderers

by Ayrton Galea - 10th August 2017

Birkirkara FC will be playing the last match of the Mosta Tournament this evening, when they will take on Sliema Wanderers FC. A draw will be enough for the Stripes to be declared winners of this tournament.

The Stripes won all three matches so far, as they defeated Mosta, Naxxar Lions and Tarxien Rainbows. They registered a very comfortable 6-1 victory in their last match against the Rainbows, with Alexander Nilsson and Luke Montebello scoring a brace each, while Ryan Camenzuli and Llywelyn Cremona scoring the other two goals for the Stripes.

On the other hand, Sliema Wanderers had mixed fortunes during this tournament. They lost the opening match against Tarxien Rainbows, but they bounced back with a big victory against Naxxar Lions. In the last match, the Wanderers shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw against Mosta.

The match will be played at the Charles Abela Stadium and it will kick off at 18:45.

Come on the Stripes!
