On Monday, Birkirkara played a highly one-sided friendly match against Division One side Hamrun S.

New signing Sylvano Comvalius opened the score after just three minutes of play, when after receiving from the left, the Dutch striker elegantly put the ball past the 'Spartans' goalie.

On the twenty-fifth minute, Comvalius scored again after receiving yet another good pass from the left.

Seven minutes later, Birkirkara ensured victory as a long cross by Angus Buhagiar, found captain Michael Galea whose wonderful shot made it 3-0.

On the eightyith minute, it was the captain again, who in a one-on-one situation, dribbled past the Hamrun goalkeeper, and put the ball in the empty net.

Two minutes from the end, Alan Tabone had the chance to make it 5-0, however his penalty-kick hit the post.

'The Stripes' will now be involved in another friendly match against Mqabba on Saturday.
