Birkirkara vs Marsaxlokk today

by Ayrton Galea - 15th January 2011

Birkirkara will be going through another difficult test as this afternoon 'The Stripes' will face the south-sea-siders, Marsaxlokk.

Birkirkara are coming from a 3-1 defeat, but despite this the performance was very satisfying, and the yellow-reds surely deserved something better from this game.

On the other hand, Marsaxlokk are coming from a 2-2 draw against Hibernians, which is the 6th match without a win for them.

In the 1st round, Marsaxlokk managed to defeat Birkirkara with a humiliating 5-2 result. In that match, 'The Stripes' gave a terrible performance which resulted in this heavy loss.

For the 14th consecutive match, Birkirkara will not be in full-strength. Patrick Borg is still recovering from his injury, although he might make it for this game. Angus Buhagiar and Paul Fenech are suspended while Simon Zahra and Trevor Cilia are ruled-out injured.

The match will be played at the Hibs Ground, as the MFA announced a change in venue earlier this week, and it will kick-off at 16:00. Transport from Valley Road will leave at 15:00.

We encourage all of you to come to the ground to support the team that really needs your support. Angus Buhagiar earlier this week said "I would like to encourage all the supporters to keep up their valued presence at the ground and to keep believing that we can do it this year as well. My heartfelt thanks to everyone for their undying support - We'd be nothing on the pitch without you!"

Come on the Stripes!
