Birkirkara to face Mosta in tricky encounter

by Ayrton Galea - 26th November 2011

This Sunday afternoon, Birkirkara will face Mosta and they will be all out looking for the three precious points to bounce back from last Monday's disappointing defeat.

Last Monday, Qormi had a player sent off early in the second half. Disappointingly enough, Birkirkara not only failed to make the best of the situation but they suffered two goals to lose the match with a 2-0 score.

On the other hand, tomorrow's opponents, Mosta had a very satisfactory performance where they dominated the match against Marsaxlokk. However they failed to do the most important thing in football which is to score. They finished the match in a goal-less draw after they lost several golden opportunities to take the lead.

After Qormi and Sliema dropped precious points, Birkirkara must win at all cost in order to go three points ahead of Sliema and to take Qormi's place in the fourth position.

Mr. Paul Zammit will not have a full selection available as Rowen Muscat is still struggling with a hamstring injury, Rodrigo Pereira is ruled out injured with his knee and Leighton Grech is suspended. Dragan Perisic is expected to recover it on time after he was ill during the week.

In the first round, Birkirkara emerged as winners with a 3-1 score thanks to a brace by Moises Avila Perez and a direct corner kick by Trevor Cilia. Mosta scored the consolation goal by an own goal.

The match will be played at the Hibernians Stadium and it is scheduled to kick off at 14:00. Transport from Valley Road is available and it will leave at 13:00.

Come on the Stripes!
