Mifsud Triganza in, Cilia and Decesare out

by Ivan Mizzi - 30th January 2012

Birkirkara FC secured the services of the fourth player in the January transfer market. Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza, formerly of Sliema Wanderers is now a Birkirkara player. On the other hand, Trevor Cilia and Andrew Decesare moved in the opposite direction and they both joined Sliema Wanderers.

Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza

Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza needs no introduction to Maltese Football or to Birkirkara FC, as the deadly striker already wore our shirt. Jean Pierre joined our Club in 2004 and spent a very successful five years with our Club. In total he made 121 appearances and scored no less than 52 goals. He signed a three and a half year contract with our Club which means till the end of the 2014-2015 season.

Andrew Decesare

Andrew Decesare joined our Club in the 2010 Summer Transfer Market from Tarxien Rainbows and he signed a two year contract with our Club. In this one and a half seasons, he had 27 appearances, and out of them he was selected in the first eleven 20 times.

Trevor Cilia

Trevor Cilia moved from Floriana to Birkirkara in the 2008 Summer Transfer Market and he spent three and a half seasons with our Club. The 2009-2010 season was probably the best season for Trevor in his playing career as he won the Premier League for the first time in his life. After failing to keep a regular place with the first team this year, Trevor opted to move to Sliema Wanderers. With our Club, he made no less than 84 appearances in which he was selected with this first eleven 75 times.

While we thank Trevor and Andrew for their service to our Club we would also like to wish them all the best of luck in the future.

We would like to welcome back Jean Pierre with our Club and we hope that we see the same Jean Pierre scoring those crucial and decisive goals with our Club!
