Rodrigo Pereira joins back Birkirkara FC

by Ivan Mizzi - 22nd November 2012

Brazilian central defender Rodrigo Pereira is the latest signing with our Club as both parties agreed terms and he will once again join our squad.

Rodrigo could be considered as a major boost to the squad as he will definitely give Mr. Paul Zammit fresh options at the back, as he will join the two other foreigners at the back Nikola Vukanac and Alejandro Mendoza who are currently having excellent performances.

Rodrigo is definitely not a new face in our team as he spent last season and the beginning of this season with our Club.

In the last Premier League, Rodrigo had 27 appearances, which he started all from the beginning and he managed to score three goals. His goals were scored on the 16 September 2011 in the 2-2 draw against Mqabba , his second goal was scored thanks to a direct freekick on the 30 September 2011 giving ‘The Stripes' a narrow 2-1 win over Marsaxlokk and the third goal arrived in the comfortable 5-0 win over Balzan on the 9 April when he converted a penalty.

On the other hand, in this 2012-2013 season, Rodrigo played in the Euro Cup, the Europa League and the AME Cup matches where in all he made 7 appearances and scored two goals.

Rodrigo is available for selection for tomorrow's match against Balzan Youths FC.

We would like to wish Rodrigo the best of luck in his second adventure with our Club.
