Match Preview: Birkirkara FC vs. Balzan FC

Birkirkara FC will set the ball rolling for an explosive start in the BOV Premier League, as they will take on title-contenders Balzan FC in the match of the week of the first matchday.

Following securing a place back in European competitions, the Stripes have revamped the squad, as they were among the busiest Maltese clubs in the summer transfer market so far. The Stripes have registered no less than eleven new players.

The Stripes have signed nine new foreigners as only Kristijan Naumovski and Mislav Andelkovic were retained from last season. Arian Mrsulja, Carlos Chavarria, Danilo Chapoval De Azevedo, Eduardo Dos Santos, Fabiano Campos, Marcelo De Siqueira, Milan Basrak, Thiago Brito and Uchenna Umeh.

On the other hand, the Stripes activated their option for the permanent move of Terence Agius following a successful loan spell with our Club last season, while they have also signed National Team players Paul Fenech and Michael Mifsud respectively.

Coach Paul Zammit was confirmed at the helm of the team, as the Birkirkara Coach signed a fresh three-year contract after completing the mission to finish in the top-four to secure a spot in European competitions.

All new signings are at the disposal of the Birkirkara Coach, with Ryan Scicluna is the only player ruled-out injured for this match.

The match will be played at the National Stadium and it will kick off at 19:00.
