Wounded Sliema face Birkirkara

by Matthaeus Grasso - 9th April 2010

On Friday, Birkirkara will be facing a Sliema W. side desperate to improve its performance and in a huge need of points, following a stretch of negative results. For this very same reason, our players should be willing to fight for possession and should avoid giving our opponents any space and time on the ball.

With Birkirkara occupying first place of the standings by just four points, any slip-up can be devastating in such a crucial stage of this year's league.

Mr.Paul Zammit, will have plenty to think about prior to kick-off, as the squad will be missing the services of Alan Tabone due to suspension, whilst captain Michael Galea, Trevor Cilia and Rowen Muscat might also not feature in the starting line-up due to sickness/injury.

On a more positive note, Sylvano Comvalius will be available for selection again after recovering from a slight injury due to which he had to be substituted just a few minutes from the start of the league match against Valletta.

As the players themselves confirm, your full support throughout the match is utterly important, so the Birkirkara FC clan expects you to turn out in big numbers and encourage the squad from the first to the very last minute of the match. Together we can achieve what has been deemed as 'impossible' come the beginning of the season.

Come on Yellows!
