Will Birkirkara end their crisis?

by Ayrton Galea - 9th December 2011

Birkirkara will try to end their disappointing run when they face Mqabba.

Unexpectedly, Birkirkara are going through a disappointing run when they failed to pick up maximum points in the last three outings. In fact, their last win was against Balzan with a 2-1 score on the 11 November. From then, Birkirkara registered two defeats against Qormi and Hibernians and a goal less draw against Mosta.

On the other hand, Mqabba have surpassed their expectations and they could be considered as one of this Premier League's surprises. Their discipline on the pitch is noticed by everyone and they are definitely not easy team to beat. After going through some negative results they bounced back in the last match with a solitary goal against Marsaxlokk to claim three precious points.

Birkirkara will once again be a depleted side, especially in the defence department as Angus Buhagiar and Dragan Perisic are not fit to play while Rodrigo Pereira and Andrew Decesare are suspended. Moises Avila Perez will also be suspended for this match. On a more positive note, Paul Fenech and Shaun Bajada will be back for Mr. Paul Zammit's selection.

In the first round Mqabba held drew Birkirkara in a 2-2 score. The scorers for Birkirkara were Moises Avila Perez and Rodrigo Pereira

The match will be played at the Victor Tedesco Stadium and it is scheduled to kick off at 18:00. Transport from Valley Road will leave at 17:30.

Come on the Stripes!
