In the second friendly match of the week, Birkirkara found no difficulty to dominate and beat Dingli Swallows with a 4-0 score.

It was a very improved performance from the last friendly as today Birkirkara made the best of their chances.

For this match, Goalkeeper Rueben Gauci was making his appearance for Birkirkara. However, Rueben is still not officially a Birkirkara FC player. Two foreigners, a striker and a defender from Holland were on trial with our club. Once again, in the second half, Mr. Paul Zammit gave the chance to some youngsters.

The First Half

Birkirkara opened a two goal lead in the first half thanks to goals by Alan Tabone and Terence Vella as they were enough for Birkirkara to continue be the superior side and creating the best chances.

0' - The Dutch striker was caught in an offside position.

2' - Birkirkara created the first dangerous goal scoring opportunity as Terence Vella was well served from the back, advanced in the box, served the Dutch striker but the latter did not reach the ball in time to be able to tap it in. From the same action, the Dutch striker's cross was intercepted by the goalkeeper.

3' - Dingli were caught in an offside position.

5' - Dingli tried their luck with a shot but Rueben Gauci found no problem to save.

7' - Birkirkara took the lead! A fine through ball towards Alan Tabone who rounded the rushing goalkeeper and although pressed by two players, Alan Tabone slotted home.

8' - Terence Vella was caught in an offside position.

8' - The Dutch striker was caught in an offside position.

9' - Terence Vella fouled.

10' - Dingli had a diagonal shot ending wide following a cross from the left.

13' - The Dutch striker was caught in an offside position.

14' - Birkirkara won a corner after Ryan Camenzuli's cross was deflected. From Shaun Bajada's corner kick, the Dutch defender headed wide.

14' - Shaun Bajada fouled.

17' - Birkirkara made them two! A perfect pass by Ryan Scicluna towards Terence Vella who advanced with the ball and his shot beat the goalkeeper.

19' - Shaun Bajada tried his luck with a low shot which ended wide.

23' - Ryan Camenzuli had an attempt on goal ending wide.

24' - Another fine pass by Ryan Scicluna to Terence Vella whose shot ended over the bar.

24' - Paul Fenech tried a long distance lob but it was saved by the goalkeeper.

26' - Terence Vella was fouled.

27' - Birkirkara almost made them three, when the Dutch striker served Shaun Bajada and the latter's shot whizzed past the post.

34' - Dingli almost pulled one back but a close range effort was well blocked by Rueben Gauci.

36' - In a good chance for Birkirkara to increase the lead, the Dutch striker's pass was too powerful for the unmarked Terence Vella to reach.

37' - Dingli were unlucky not to pull one back when a close range effort beat Gauci but was cleared off the line by Ryan Scicluna.

42' - The Dingli goalkeeper made a fine save on Paul Fenech after the Dutch striker failed to head the ball well following a cross from the right.

The Second Half

The second half was more balanced but Birkirkara were still the better side and managed to score another two goals in the late moments of the second half.

45' - In a substitution made in the half time break, Trevor Cilia replaced Joseph Zerafa.
