Birkirkara defeats Lija Athletic

Birkirkara gave a fine performance in a friendly match played yesterday evening at the Mgarr Grounds as three goals in the first half were enough to defeat Lija Athletic with a 3-0 score.

Youngster Kurt Zammit broke the deadlock after hardly a minute had passed by making the best out of a defensive blunder and hit home. Birkirkara continued to show the best ideas and they doubled the score thanks to Jhonnattann Benites who had his header hitting past the goalkeeper off an excellent cross by Shola Shodiya. Alejandro Mendoza sealed the issue with the third goal.

Nikola Vukanac made his first appearance after rejoining the senior team.
