BOV Premier League - Gzira United FC 1-1 Birkirkara FC

Birkirkara FC and Gzira United FC shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw in the BOV Premier League, in a match that came to life in the second half where both sides scored a goal each. For the Stripes, this was their second consecutive draw, following their goalless draw against Floriana FC.

Following a goalless first half, the Stripes broke the deadlock nine minutes inside the second half. A shot from Johann Bezzina from inside the box was blocked, but Luke Montebello took the rebound and struck a powerful shot past goalkeeper Haber. This was Montebello's first goal since his return.

However, Birkirkara's lead was short-lived, as the Maroons made the score level just five minutes later. Juan Carlos Carbolan avoided the challenge of Eduardo Dos Santos and darted inside the box before serving Justin Junior Mengolo who hit home from close-range.

Gzira United FC forward Justin Junior Mengolo was voted the BOV Player of the Match.
